Muhammad’s approach to legal practice reflects a career shaped by varied responsibilities, unfamiliar challenges and difficult decisions. He recognises that the issue initially presented is not always the one on which a case turns, placing particular importance on careful merits assessment, critical examination of the evidence and identifying the matters that require resolution.

A Law Society-accredited Immigration and Asylum Supervising Senior Caseworker, Muhammad has full conduct of legally aided and privately funded immigration, asylum and human rights matters.

His practice encompasses asylum and protection claims, First-tier and Upper Tribunal appeals, Article 8 family and private life matters, deportation, immigration detention and bail, fresh claims and further submissions, trafficking and modern slavery, refugee dependant appeals, and adult dependent relative applications and appeals. His experience also includes urgent removal matters, injunctions and judicial review.

Alongside this, he undertakes family and business immigration work, including spouse, partner and other dependant applications, Skilled Worker visas, sponsor licence applications, settlement, naturalisation, visit visas and refusals, administrative reviews and applications outside the Immigration Rules.

Muhammad develops legal arguments, prepares detailed representations and evidence for Tribunal proceedings, and works closely with counsel and expert witnesses. His responsibilities also extend to Legal Aid merits and funding assessments, including Exceptional Case Funding, costs and scope matters, and the supervision of assistant and senior caseworkers.

Files under Muhammad’s conduct were included in Ata & Co Solicitors’ Legal Aid Agency Immigration and Asylum peer review, following which the firm received an Excellence (1) rating.

His legal practice draws on more than 15 years of earlier business and management experience, including founding and managing businesses in the UK and overseas. This background continues to inform his approach to responsibility, organisation, professional relationships and the practical demands of legal practice.
